I generally try to keep my collecting limited to things that are of some value, either educationally or that can be acquired in a profitable manner. About my collections: Ancient coins, primarily Roman Imperial, Roman provincial, Byzantine and some Greek. I am a conservator/cleaner, so I don't really collect the high end and high dollar coins, nor investment grade items, I do it for sheer enjoyment of bringing a piece of history out of 2000 years of crust. As such, I am an expert in conserving ancient bronze coins, occasionally deal in ancient numismatics, publish a conserving and collecting blog, and have lectured on ancient coins. About my interests: My wife and kids are my first and most precious interest. Then secondarily comes everything else - Theology, history, history of aesthetics, books, antiquity, photography, cultural reformation, shooting, fishing, coffee, gardening.
