| about me |
|
| My name is Lynn (screen name is Natsuki / natsukigirl). I'm a 27-year-old professional web programmer and graphic designer. I started collecting manga and teaching myself to read Japanese when I was about 13-years old after becoming hooked on two anime series Ranma 1/2 and Sailormoon. Also around this time I began learning about building websites, coding HTML by hand, and working with digital graphics.
I began my manga collecting career in proper fashion buy hunting down Sailormoon volumes 4 and 5 during a rainy day with my older sister when I was 13. A comic shop owner told us there was a neighborhood man who imported Japanese language comics. We found him, bought them, and I placed them on my shelf. From then on I was constantly at the counters of all of my local comic shops begging for Japanese language Sailormoon. I'd skip lunches to save up my lunch money to buy comics. A year or so after this I was introduced to eBay by my father, where I began buying rare comics.
During highschool I had friends who would visit Japan yearly, and I would always send with them lots of cash and a wishlist. As an adult I now live in California where it is much easier to buy manga locally. I buy primarily through Book Off, Kinokuniya, and eBay. |
