about me The only thing that keeps me from buying way more than I do is...poverty! Also my husband would kill me if I brought any more stuff into our apartment, which is where I have to store everything. And I do mean everything! I'm a native New Yorker and have lived in the city most of my life. I share my home with my husband and Bucky the Wonderdog.
about my collections I love vintage clothing, particularly from the 1930s-1950s. Later decades have something to offer as well, but it's the earlier times that really get me going. The craftsmanship of even the simplest garments always amazes me, more so because I cannot sew. And the quality of the material is often so marvelous...little today is comparable. It frustrated me that I could not find vintage to fit me, so that became my mission. I rarely bother with anything smaller than a 42-inch bust, unless it has something unusual to offer.
my interests Besides vintage clothing, I adore old movies and always have. When I was younger, it was musicals, and the women's dresses fascinated me. I have a huge collection of books of film. I also enjoy reading, particularly memoirs and literary fiction. And writing my blog, "Diary of A Mad Fashionista," which allows me to live my fantasy life and make a lot of cheap jokes.
