More About Wendywysuen
About me: My name is Wendy Suen, nickname Queen Snovari. I am a Canadian Chinese who live in Shanghai since 2004, I am an in house Talent Director and the Guinness World Records Holder for having the “Largest Mini Glass Snow Globe Collection” in the world. I set the record in 2005 with 904 globes, and I have updated my record in April 2008 with 1888 globes. My globes are situated at my home in Shanghai and my current count is around 3088 pieces.
One day, I want to build my snow globe empire. I want to write books about glass snow globe collecting, build a collectors’ website, form a snow globe collectors’ club, design and manufacture my own snow globes and snow globe-themed merchandises, and to establish a snow globe museum when my collection reach 10,000 globes. My snow globes can then be shown to different people. In the meantime, I have established an MSN space which is about snow globe collecting.

My collections: These beautiful glass globe collectible are known by many names: snowglobes, snowdomes, snowscenes, snowshakers, snowstorms, waterglobes, waterdomes, waterballs, blizzard-weights, shake ‘em up, shakies, and snowies. Regardless of their names, they encapsulate some form of fascination for people of all ages around the world. The snowglobes' ability to capture emotional moments and cherished occasions make them irresistable to collectors. Each tiny scene in a globe evokes a special feeling as unique as viewing an emotionally charged painting. Aside from their wide emotional appeal, snowglobes are perfect as souvenir items. Not only do snowglobes come in a variety of sizes and shapes, they are also sturdy and portable. Each finely crafted scenic detail in a globe adds a nice complimentary touch to one's travel memoirs.
The majority of my collection are ball-like glass globe with a 45mm diameter, however, any globe below 55mm diameter are also counted as mini globes and I have some of those in my collection.
I collect all categories including Advertising, Angels, Animals, Characters, Designers, Holidays and Celebrations, Location, Movies, Religious, Sports, and Dual-purpose globes.
I also collect snow globe related items like snow globe in print and TV, books, fabrics, clothes, cards, posters, mugs, wine cock, mattress, ties, pins and others.
My interests: My hobby in collecting snowglobes all started In Christmas 2000, when my then boyfriend (now my husband) gave me a beautiful golf ball size, mini glass snow globe as my Christmas present. Snow globes are the world in miniature.
I was so attracted to the creativity and craftsmanship of this snow globe. On the outside, there is a grey cat. Inside the globe, there is a 24K gold computer mouse hiding. I am a cat lover, so for Raymond to choose this globe for me is very meaningful and it has become the symbol of our love. This is my favorite and the most treasurable globe in my entire collection.
From then on, whenever and wherever I go shopping, I will look for mini size glass snow globe and collecting mini snow globe became my hobby.
At first, I was only able to buy mini globes in some gift shops in Hong Kong. I was able to acquire more when I travel. Relatives and friends started buying snow globe for me as gifts. Raymond and my parents have been the key contributors and supporters to my collection. In 2003, I discovered EBAY auction, so I start bidding and buying mini globes from the internet. Major snow globe producers promote new globes every year, famous ones include: Westland, Kurl Adler, Twinkle and Disney.
