About me: My name is Peter and I am Chairman of the British Novelty Salt & Pepper Collectors' Club (BNSPCC). I worked for Texaco in the UK for 30 years but am now retired.
My wife Joan and I do lots of voluntary work and I have also given over 200 talks about my shakers to various clubs and groups.
Joan collects novelty teapots!
My collections: I have been collecting since 1997 and have about 2,500 sets. Not buying so many now (run out of space!) but when I do it is the better quality ones.
I have appeared with my shakers on three TV programmes in the UK and in various newspapers and magazines including the Wisconsin Times in Canada. I love novelty shakers and also what we in the UK call 'cruet sets' that include a mustard pot and tray as well as the shakers.
My interests: Joan and I are volunteers at our local theatre, at our local horticultural college and for a blind people's charity. Joan also volunteers at local school and I organise and teach free computer clubs and classes for the over 50s. We are keen table tennis players and tenpin bowlers and enjoy several other sports too.
