Does anyone know where I can get photo or video, from the 1960 Rose Parade. I am looking for the float from the City of Downey featuring an ice rink and skaters. Any information would help! Thanks.

P.S. from below: I wanted to add that Monty Montana has lassoed me in several parades over the years, and later when I was a judge on the stand, he recognized me and put a rope around me, he was a talent, unique person and quite the showman. Jo

1953, I was the official Tournament of Roses twirler/ drum majorette leading the Pasadena City College 130 piece band stepping off first for the 7 mile ( back then )twirling/strutting parade route. I also later years was the only paid Tournament of Roses twirler leading the Tommy Walker Toppers Band which was always sponsored by Dr. Pepper or other sponsors. Tommy had been drum major for U.S.C. and also did the place kicks for the football team, changing his drum major shako for a football helmet. Later years Tommy Walker was with Disneyland as one of the heads of Entertainment and his father Vissey was the first Band Director for the Disney marching band. Tommy also was hired to do the music for opening of the Roraring twenties for Knott's Berry Farm ( the rides ) my husband Bernie Gottlieb known professionally as Bernie Bernard was hired to back the dancers and show and co ordinate the television production from KTLA CH 5 from Knott's. Myself , mother, my children were all so very proud of their Dad.

Where is this photo and what size is it? Do you own it and how much to purchase? It was Jan. 1 1964. Our museum would like it in Prince George County. Thanks, George

I am looking for my grandfather, Captain Ben Oberstein, of the ELA Mounted Police; He was also an Honorary Charro and rode every year in the Rose parade as one or the other, mostly as the captain of the mounted police. He was friends with Monty Montana. Is there any way to locate him here? He rode a beautiful Arabian.

What halcyon days I enjoyed as a child out in the San Fernando Valley. Monty Montana came to our school with his horse. We gathered around them as MM did his rope tricks. I welll remember his beautiful pinto horse. Now, decades later we live in Pasadena, California. The Rose Parade is wonderful with all the equestrium teams and, of course the floats! God bless. Sunny Murchison and Lil Sunny Lee P.S. His horse's tack was gorgeous! Pasadena, California
