Bugatti spent much of his days at the Antwerp zoo making models such as this Asian elephant. He would sit in front of their cages and give them pieces of bread to eat and observe how they passed their trunks between the bars of the cage and take it. As a result he was able to capture these postures and movements vividly.
The bronze is exquisitely detailed and HOT CASTED.
