It’s hard to argue with free meat. When you combine those carnivorous pleasures with leisurely browsing one of the United States’ largest flea markets (2500 vendors strong!), you’ve harnessed the smoky, delicious recipe of universal appeal.
We mentioned it before, but Collectors Quest will be hanging out this weekend (July 8, 2012) at the Rose Bowl Flea Market in Pasadena, CA, with the History Channel’s Cross-Country Cookout truck. It’ll be hard to miss, as it’ll probably be the only 80-foot long, black-and-red behemoth spewing delectable-smelling BBQ smoke. We visited the truck while it was in NYC, and they provided some of the finest sausage known to man. While we don’t advocate getting on the line twice… it’s worth getting on line twice. Bring a disguise so they don’t recognize you on your second trip around.
While you’re on line, you’ll also be the first people in the world to see our set of new commercials, which are a lovingly sarcastic exploration to the world of the flea market… starring a few characters you might recognize, and a doll which bears a startling resemblance to Michael McDonald. If clouds could sing, they’d sound like Michael McDonald.
We’ll also be posting the best of what we encounter on Facebook and Twitter, live all day. Expect a plethora of photos of excellent finds and, if we’re lucky, celebrity sightings delivered throughout the day. Send us a Tweet or two and we’ll (hopefully) be able to answer your questions!
And speaking of celebrities, Danielle from American Pickers will also be on premises. Do you have something you’d like to ask her? Let us know and we’ll deliver the message!
Come on by, eat some meat, and pick up a postcard from one of our people. We’re excited to meat meet you!
