The attic had not been entered in almost 20 years, tons of old stuff! When digging, we were told we could just 'toss the old papers', but we declined and insisted that they keep anything to do with family matters. There were receipts, photos, documents, you name it! They were handed box after box of this ephemera. We sadly learned that much of it did end up being tossed! I would love to have that much history on my family but, alas, have very little indeed.
