The battery compartment was on the back left side of the unit as you are looking at the back. It had a round cap which you remove a screw, slide to one side and insert 4 d cell batteries. It had a white base with a red lid and the case of the record player had like a canvas colored material probably some kind of plastic. The speaker was located in front of the player facing you as you were in front of the player. From what I remember 45 years ago in 1963 it sounded pretty good. I would appreciate if any one knows the company who made it or where I could buy one thanks.
