I have found several of the darker blue jars in the back yard and I've also found a light cornflower colored jar. Sadly, they're all empty, without labels and without lids, but the bottoms of all the jars have Vicks Vaporub embossed. Has anyone else seel the light blue colored jar?

I have a 1 &1/2 - 2 inch blue vicks bottle it is shaped in somewhat of a vshape. On one side it says va-tro-nol. The other side says Vicks. Anyone have any Idea if it is worth anything?

I, too, have always adored Vicks Vaporub -- since childhood, when I would sit at my kiddie desk and draw pictures of the jar of Vicks. I do not feel happy or comfortable unless I know that at least one jar of Vicks is in my home at all times. In fact, when I signed up for a LiveJournal account online, I tried to claim the username "Vicksvaporub", but it was taken...so I befriended the person who had the name (she's since changed it, and then deleted her journal).

A few months ago, while at a huge antique mall, I bought a vintage jar of Vicks with the original label and actual glass jar, thinking it was fairly old. I put it on my bathroom counter as "decor" and smiled lovingly at it each morning. The thing is, it must not really be that old at all, because when I got my last cold (about 3 weeks ago), I was so desperate to feel better that I opened the antique Vicks and started using it -- and it's still potent and filled with menthol-y goodness. Vicks from 1857 would probably have lost its menthol by now, don'cha think? Even post WW2-Vicks or Summer Of Love Vicks would show some kind of change in consistency, I'm betting. So I might have been a wee bit ripped off.

I found this article when I decided to see if there was a fan club online anywhere for Vick-ophiliacs! I guess there sort of is! :-)
